Dr. Hormone MD is now Verso. Same Dr. Vogt, same care, only the name has changed!

Proper hormone care, by expert clinicians

We are here to make good hormone care ordinary, combining thorough bloodwork with clinicians who have the time to read it, so your treatment is built on your history and not on a single number.

Our founding story

A note from Dr. Vogt

I am a psychiatrist. For twenty-five years I have treated mood, sleep and exhaustion, which are the first things to change when hormones do. I could see the pattern in front of me long before there was anywhere good to send people, so I trained in hormone medicine and built the practice myself.

The story behind Verso

I studied medicine at Albert-Ludwigs University in Freiburg, came to Philadelphia for my residency, and completed my training at Drexel in 2001. The twenty-five years since have been psychiatry, treating depression, anxiety, PTSD and ADHD in adults and in children. Mood, sleep, energy and focus are what a psychiatrist works with, and they are also the first things to change when hormones do.

Estrogen, progesterone and testosterone act on the same systems antidepressants act on. So a patient would describe low mood, disrupted sleep and a fatigue that rest did not touch, and what was driving it would be plain enough to me. What I did not have was anywhere good to send her. Prescribing collapsed across medicine after the 2002 trial and never properly recovered, and a fifteen-minute appointment cannot take the history this needs.

So I trained for it. On top of my boards in psychiatry and in obesity medicine, I completed a fellowship in anti-aging and functional medicine, and I started treating hormones directly instead of referring them onward. A striking number of the people I had been treating for years got better.

Then I needed that care myself, and found out how long it takes even from inside the profession. Verso is the clinic I would have wanted to send someone to. The same clinician every visit, labs and follow-up included, and nothing marked up. When hormone therapy is not the answer, we say so on the first call.

Questions?

How do I know if how I feel is hormone related?

You can’t tell from symptoms alone, which is why we start with bloodwork. The most common signs are poor sleep or 3 a.m. wake-ups, low energy, brain fog, a short fuse, weight that won’t shift, hot flashes and a lower sex drive. Your bloodwork looks at your hormones along with thyroid, iron, blood sugar and more, so if something else is behind it, your clinician will tell you and point you to the right care. We treat perimenopause and menopause in women and low testosterone in men, by video, in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Delaware.

My labs came back “normal.” Can you still help?

Often, yes. Reference ranges are wide, hormone levels in perimenopause can shift from week to week, and routine checkups often skip the hormones that matter for your symptoms. Your clinician reads a fuller set of bloodwork alongside your symptoms and history. If you have recent results, send them before your first visit. If they cover what we need, we use them and lower what you pay to start.

Who will I actually be seeing?

A clinician who specializes in hormone care, and the same one at every visit. They review your bloodwork, run your visits, adjust your treatment and answer your messages, so you never have to start your story over. All care is overseen by our medical director, Dr. Jutta Vogt, a triple board-certified physician with more than 30 years in practice.

Do you take insurance?

No, and that’s deliberate. Being cash-pay lets us give you a clinician who has time, run the labs you need rather than the ones a plan will cover, and keep pricing simple enough to put on our website. You can use HSA or FSA funds, and your membership is month-to-month. Medication is billed at cost with no markup, and common prescriptions like the estradiol patch and progesterone can still go through your insurance at your regular pharmacy.

Is hormone therapy safe?

For most people, yes, when it’s prescribed carefully and monitored. Much of the fear traces back to a 2002 study that mostly involved older women starting later, on older forms of hormones. In 2025, the FDA moved to remove the boxed warning from most menopause hormone therapy. Your clinician reviews your bloodwork and history before prescribing, chooses the form and dose that suit you, and rechecks your labs at 6 to 8 weeks and regularly after that. If anything in your history makes treatment a poor fit, they’ll tell you plainly and talk through other options.

Can I get help with more than hormones?

Yes, and you don’t have to wait until your hormones are settled. As a member, you can ask for treatment for thinning hair, skin, sexual health or recovery right from your account, with no extra appointment. Your clinician reviews each request against your bloodwork and current treatment, usually within a day, and it’s priced at cost like everything else.
